Gold Cross Training Centers offer life-saving programs and certification courses that will give you confidence to respond in an emergency situation with skills that can save a life. Highly qualified and certified instructors teach all courses.

Gold Cross Medical Training and Certification Courses provide regular continuing education for all certified levels of both state and national EMS registries. All participants who meet the course objectives receive course completion certificates. Gold Cross sponsors training centers for the American Heart Association in Salt Lake, Vernal, Cedar City and St. George.
CERTIFIED COURSES
The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course prepares healthcare providers to recognize and respond to life-threatening pediatric emergencies. Using a combination of case-based discussions, interactive instruction, and hands-on skills practice, participants learn how to assess and manage seriously ill or injured infants and children. Topics include advanced airway management, effective resuscitation team dynamics, treatment algorithms for shock and respiratory failure, and recognition of cardiac arrest in pediatric patients.
Intended Audience:
The PALS course is designed for healthcare professionals who care for infants and children in emergency, critical care, and prehospital settings, including:
Paramedics and advanced emergency medical providers
Physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners
Pediatric, emergency, and critical care nurses
Other clinical personnel who need PALS certification for patient care responsibilities
The Basic Life Support (BLS) course equips participants with the essential skills needed to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and use an AED effectively. Training emphasizes team dynamics, critical thinking, and hands-on practice to prepare providers to respond quickly and confidently in emergency situations both inside and outside the hospital.

BLS is designed for healthcare professionals and first responders who are required to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills. This includes:
Paramedics, EMTs, and other prehospital providers
Physicians, nurses, and medical assistants
Hospital and clinic staff
Students entering healthcare professions
The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course builds on the foundation of Basic Life Support (BLS) to prepare healthcare providers to manage complex cardiovascular emergencies. This course emphasizes the recognition and early management of cardiac arrest, acute coronary syndromes, and stroke, as well as effective team dynamics and communication during resuscitation. Through a combination of interactive instruction, case-based scenarios, and hands-on skills practice, participants learn advanced airway management, pharmacology, and the systematic approach to adult patients in crisis.
Intended Audience:
The ACLS course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes, but is not limited to:
Paramedics and advanced emergency medical providers
Physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners
Critical care, emergency, and intensive care nurses
Other healthcare personnel who need ACLS certification for clinical responsibilities

What is an EMT?
Our EMT course is the perfect entry point into the world of emergency medical services. This program provides students with the essential knowledge and skills to respond to medical and traumatic emergencies as part of the healthcare team.
Through a blend of classroom instruction, and hands-on skills labs, students will learn patient assessment, airway management, bleeding control, CPR, and other lifesaving interventions. Emphasis is placed on developing strong decision-making, teamwork, and communication skills needed in the fast-paced EMS environment.
Graduates of this program will be prepared to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) EMT exam and begin a rewarding career providing compassionate, frontline care in their communities.

What is an AEMT?
Our AEMT course is designed for those ready to advance beyond the EMT level and take on a greater role in patient care. Building on foundational EMT skills, this program prepares students to provide advanced life support in both pre-hospital and clinical settings.
Students will gain hands-on experience in skills such as IV therapy, medication administration, advanced airway management, and expanded patient assessment. Through a combination of classroom instruction, and simulation labs participants will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to make critical decisions in high-stakes situations.
Upon successful completion, graduates will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) AEMT exam and pursue state licensure. This course is ideal for EMTs seeking career advancement, future paramedic students, or anyone dedicated to serving their community at a higher level of care.

The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course teaches participants the skills needed to respond to the most common medical emergencies until professional help arrives. Through hands-on practice and guided instruction, students learn how to provide high-quality CPR, use an AED, and give basic first aid for conditions such as bleeding, choking, and sudden illness. This course emphasizes confidence-building, practical application, and preparedness in real-world situations.
Intended Audience:
Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for work, regulatory, or personal reasons. This includes:
Teachers, coaches, and childcare providers
Workplace staff and safety teams
Community members, parents, and caregivers
Anyone who wants to be prepared to respond in an emergency

We offer a full range of American Heart Association (AHA) courses, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED. We also offer initial certification courses approved by the state EMS office for EMT, AEMT, and paramedic.

Yes. A current BLS certification is required before enrolling in ACLS or PALS, since those courses build on BLS skills.

Yes. If you complete the AHA’s online portion of a course (HeartCode®), you can schedule a skills pass-off session with us for BLS, ACLS, PALS, or Heartsaver.
